When you play Single Player - it will 'SymLink' the files from the Mod Folder in 'My Documents' to your GTA V installation folder. When you quit the game - it will pull them from the folder and stick them back in the documents. The process is almost reversed for Online - when you play Online it won't put any mods into the GTA V folder. While modding a game like GTA 5 is certainly a good time, there is the chance that doing so will corrupt your game in some way - or, even worse, Rockstar might decide to ban you from using certain. Unfortunately, installing GTA 5 mods on PC isn't as simple as copy and pasting the downloaded files across. There are two tools you need to download first: Script Hook V and GTAV LUA Plugin.

How to Install Mods?


Its very easy. Just search on Google 'GTA 5 mods' and you'll find a website, choose the mod you want and download it. Gta V Folder Without Mods
While downloading you click on Steam, Library, right-click on GTA5, go to properties, click then on Local Files and then click on Browse Local Files. Open up another your download folder and then copy and paste it on your GTA5 folder and you're done. Gta V Folder Without Mods
Read the description of the mod on the website, there you can find how to activate it (its usually F4 or F9).

But You Get Banned if...


You don’t delete them before you go on GTA online (or you get banned for one month). So go to your GTA 5 folder and delete the mod you equipped. Here is a screenshot of the files you need, anything that you don’t see on this screenshot has to be deleted!

Mods in Grand Theft Auto 5 are a great way to mess around in free play when things get stale. And there is no shortage of unique mods. Some mods spawn in gravity guns, make your vehicle invisible, or even given the power of flight. Just make sure not to play Grand Theft Auto Online with these mods as they do not work and may get you banned.

Getting Started

  1. The first step is to download and install a program called OpenIV.
  2. Once you have it installed, open it up and click on GTA 5 for PC. Then it will ask for the location of your GTA 5. © Provided by GamePur

Downloading and Installing the Mods

Now that you can install any ASI mod now, this is how to install them. This will walk you through how to download a trainer mod. Trainer mods will allow you to spawn in vehicles, characters, items, and many more items into GTA 5. These mods are like cheat codes that are easily accessible through an in-game menu.

  1. Find an ASI you would like to download. Menyoo PC trainer mod will be used as an example.

You can use this method for installing any mod. Just repeat the previous two steps with a different mod. A great place to find new mods is at 5Mods. Try not to install too many mods at a time, however, as it may cause your game to become unstable.
